Behind the Scenes

We’ve done soooo many green markets and art shows in our day, lugging the pottery wheel with us every weekend (twice a weekend when we were younger and REALLY crazy).

We started out 8 years ago in Florida-and I can remember scorching in the sun and dripping sweat from all the effort of setting up, only to be torn down again a few hours later. One of the most rewarding things about being there though (besides freaking awesome farmers market açaí bowls 😜) was being able to connect with our customers as they witnessed us actually creating right in front of them. There was nothing better than seeing eyes light up with wonder (adults and kids alike) as they watched Sam slowly pull the spinning lump of clay up and down and out, and transform a “blob” into something they could recognize.

Since moving to New England and the growth of our family, we haven’t been able to do as many shows and have that kind of connection.
And after being in quarantine for the last couple months, we miss human interaction in general, as I’m sure many of you are naturally feeling as well!
So along with starting to post more videos of our process, we thought it would be nice to share this little behind the scenes family shoot that @walkerstudiosllc did a while back in our studio. It’s not the same as face to face, but will hopefully offer a little glimpse into our world- our new workspace, us creating, and trying to rein in the sweetness and craziness that is three babies in the midst of it 😆
We hope you enjoy it and that soon (hopefully sooner rather than later!) we can have some locals in here for lessons and classes again and maybe even an online version for those far away as well!
What would you all be up for? Wheel? Hand-building? Pottery date nights? Kids summer lessons? DIY clay projects from home? Let us know your ideas in the comments below!
